Family History Group

Spring 2010 Newsletter

Last term was our first without a Leader, but the Team seems to be coping so far.  We welcomed several new members, so we’re now quite a large group.   We’ve had some very interesting speakers about e.g. Nelson’s Navy, the “Swing” riots in Selborne and Victorian women in society.   Recent visits have been to The National Archive, the LDS Family History Centre in London and the Imperial War Museum.   At general meetings members have participated by talking about e.g. their ancestors’ worst jobs, or other aspects of their research.   This term saw the setting up of our own Forum, as a result of being “snowed off” in January and this is proving to be popular with some members.

Next term starts on 21st April and we have 2 more speakers lined up plus another visit and other subjects to be announced.
