2010 NEWSLETTER NO. 1

We wish you all a very Happy and Healthy New Year.
Our thanks to Doreen  and Anne for arranging an excellent Christmas meal the best yet!   Also our thanks for  all the members who are leading the walks especially those who have not lead before, we are grateful for there support and we wish you all happy and healthy walking.   Remember we walk at our own risk so please take care.

 Monday January 11th 2010 10.15am for 10.30 start.

Meet at Puttenham Common top Car Park. Carole & Robin are leading the walk this morning. Refreshments at the Good Intent or the Harvester.

Directions: From Ash (Dover Arms PH) Take the Guildford Road to Normandy. TR at Wyke Church through Wanborough over the Hog’s Back and down Puttenham Hill towards the A3. TR into Puttenham Village turn left opposite the Good Intent PH in 1.5 miles at the top of the hill turn right in to car park.

      
January 25th  10.15 am for 10.30 am start   Pam Roe and Penny are kindly leading our walk this morning our thanks to them both.   We welcome there support as new leaders .

Meet at the Anchor Pub Pyrford Lock.   Directions:   Take your favourite route to the A3 the other
Side of Guildford.   Continue along the A3 follow signs to Wisley Gardens follow road Wisley Lane past the Gardens continue through the village until you reach the Anchor Public House park in car park.

February 8th Pam & Ron Jarmain are kindly leading this walk. 10.15 am for 10.30 am

Directions:   A walk from Forest Lodge Garden Centre.
From Farnham By-Pass proceed along A325 towards Bird World.   The garden centre is just passed Bird World on the right. suggested parking - overflow car park - as we will cross the road that end   .The walk could be muddy , with a few steps up and down as we meander though the forest.  ( Refreshments and shopping) in garden centre.

Starting at Hollowdene Recreation. Car Park is in recreation ground Frensham Map Reference OS GR SU 845422

Directions:   Take your usual route to Farnham Station and go over the level crossing  proceed
To traffic lights turn right.   At next set of lights turn left onto Frensham Road (A287).   Just after
Passing the Dislexia Centre take right down Shortfield Common Lane (Quite narrow).   After
FP sign on left there is a gap in hedge/trees to Car Park.   Parking is limited so please share cars.

March 8th 10.15am  for 10.30 start Natalie Jones is kindly leading this walk.
Directions:   Take your usual route to Seale.    Park at the Tea Rooms at the Craft Centre in Seale.

March 22nd 2010   meet 10.15 for 10.30 start.   Frensham Great Pond.
Win Paine is leading us for this walk our thanks to her for all her help.

Directions:   From the A31 at Farnham south towards Hindhead passing through the village of Millbridge
Look for the sign for Frensham Great Pond Car Park .   Meet at Visitor Centre.

Monday 5th April   meet 10.15am for 10.30 start Chris  Faulkner has kindly agreed to lead this very popular walk at Windsor Great Park again.

Starting at the BISHOPS GATE JUST OFF WICK ROAD GR OS 987272

Directions:   Take your favourite route to the A30 and  go in the Bagshot direction.  Pass Virginia Water lake on your left and take the next left into Wick Road ( Signposted Savill  Garden).  Pass Valley Gardens CP Entrance to junction Bishopsgate Road, left into Bishopsgate Road and park in road near Windsor Great Park entrance.   A flat walk and a Royal Residence in the background.   A posh and expensive Pub nearby, or a tea shop in Savill Gardens or a picnic your choice.

Warning:   Take care driving through Sunningdale.  Speed camera’s either end of village.

 

Monday 19th April  meet 10.15 am for 10.30 start  Eric Marsh has kindly agreed to lead us in a walk at Farnham Park.

Directions:   Meet at Farnham Golf Club Car Park Farnham Park Folly Hill Farnham.

Monday 3rd  As this is a Bank Holiday No walk has been planned suggestions  are welcome.
