Activity

This group has been formed with the aim of helping members to understand their cameras better, take better photographs, and edit and enhance them on the computer. All abilities are catered for.

The photo group recently held a workshop on taking a group photograph. Most of the members participated and this picture is an artistic interpretation of the group by Rod Dengate.

We divide our meeting into three parts, a “how to do it” subject, a review of members pictures on a chosen theme and a final part for problems, gossip and show off.

For our “how to do it” subjects members are encouraged to give a short, informal, talk on a subject in which they have an interest.

Each month we choose a subject for a picture review. Members are encouraged to take a photo of a subject chosen by the group at the previous meeting. At the following meeting the group will look at the results and talk about any issues or ideas that were found or used. These pictures do not have to be perfect. This is not a competition and presenting one that went wrong could provide as much useful knowledge to the group as a perfect one.

For the June meeting our how-to-do-it subject will be a demonstration on how to select parts of a photo in Photoshop elements so that they can be removed or combined with other pictures.

For our picture review subject we have chosen "something humorous, weird or went wrong".
