Activity

Boots with a good grip must be worn and waterproofs should be to hand if needed. Soft drinks and light refreshments (bring your own) are usually taken after about 90mins.
At the end of each walk, many of us enjoy a social chat, drink and/or lunch in a nearby pub. Some of our group are CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) members and like to make the pub visits memorable occasions.

Please be sure to always have the right equipment, particularly boots, clothing
and essentially, a generous supply of water, particularly on hot and humid days

New members are always welcome to come along and try walking with us for free.
The Ash U3A Rambling Group fee, to cover administration costs, is currently £2-00 per walker (£1 per Boot), which is collected in September each year.

It is regretted but sorry No Dogs on walks as there may be stiles and we occasonally traverse fields containing animals.

Circa 5 mile walks - We are a happy band of 50 plus members who enjoy the pleasure of each other's company whilst also enjoying the ever-changing English countryside and on these usually walk around about 5 - 6 miles in about 2½ hours every fortnight, starting at 10.00am: unless specified otherwise.

Longer Walks - In addition, several of our most active members also enjoy an all-day outing most months, walking around 10 miles, often enjoying mid distance refreshments, in the form of a picnic stop, deep in the picturesque countryside.
These do not clash with the ~5 mile walks above, but are intended to complement them.
